Hon Audley Shaw, Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, greets student at the Jamaica 4-H Clubs Inaugural National Youth in Agriculture Symposium at the Northern Caribbean University Gymnatorium in Mandeville on February 5, 2020. Thousands of young people from schools across the island participated in the symposium which was held under the theme ‘I am Agri-Smart’, with the aim of increasing awareness of the many career opportunities within the agricultural sector.

Important Notice on the 2020 Conch Close Season

The National Fisheries Authority wishes to inform the general public that the conch close season remains in effect and continues until March 31, 2020. During this time it is illegal to catch, sell or process any conch meat. Conch meat which has been previously declared must remain in cold storage until the season officially re-opens. For further information please contact the National Fisheries Authority at 876-967-2081, 876-923-8811, 876-923-8813.
